The Orange Shirt Society was formed in Williams Lake by the founders of Orange Shirt Day to encourage and support communities to recognize Orange Shirt Day and to support reconciliation events and activities.

Our Mission:

We are committed to honoring and conveying the importance of Orange Shirt Day, fostering truth and reconciliation, supporting Indigenous communities, and promoting equality and inclusivity in education and culture.

We gratefully acknowledge that Orange Shirt Society is located on the unceded traditional lands of the T’exelcemc, or Williams Lake First Nation (WLFN), a member of the Secwepemc Nation (Shuswap people) located in the central interior of British Columbia.
